Did Land Rover make a "soft-top" model a few years ago?

In 1998 I saw a Land Rover parked in front of a store in Washington. It had the look of a Jeep Wrangler, the kind with a removable hard-top or soft-top, but was sporting the Land Rover name. The top was removed, and the interior was exposed in classic Jeep-fashion. It looked brand-new; the paint was flawless and the interior was hardly worn at all. This led me to assume, at the time, that it was a relatively new model that year or the year before... However, I have been actively searching for that model vehicle, made by Land Rover, for months now, and it seems to have disolved out of existence. Was it a one-of-a-kind that someone had had specially made? Any info would be appreciated.
