EAS Fault

Posted by timc on May 06, 2002 at 12:12:23:

While driving a '96 4.6 on a back road this weekend the EAS fault light came on and the ride height locked in place, and later coming back the same stretch the vehicle dropped all the way to the lowest level and showed EAS Fault/35 MPH Max. A brief check of the fuses, circuits, and EAS unit connections doesn't reveal any obvious problems, but the vehicle is about 35 miles from the nearest LR dealer and getting it in is somewhat challenging. Any suggestions on how to isolate the source of the problem and repair it at least temporarily on-site?
