Disco II / ABS / Trac control

Posted by Dave (Sussex UK) on September 22, 1998 at 11:22:22:

Talking with a friend this afternoon who works for Land Rover recovery.
In the UK L-R instead of using the Automobile Association (AA) now have their own Disco kitted technicians. Had a preview of the Disco II
manual for roadside use and the amount of kit on the new Disco looks impressive. Active suspension with (air on the rear?) and I think you can increase rear ground clearance but only in low ratio. Hill descent and ABS / traction control and as MG/WCB was saying last week this negates the need for a centre differential.
Drove an auto diesel R-R earlier this year and ABS on a vehicle the size of DiscoII and R-R is absolutely a must!
Lets hope the new Defender gets the same treatment. Perhaps Mike can put a good word in for us to L-R from sunny California!
