There are several differences between wagons and basic models. Obviously the 109 wagon has 5 doors and the 109 basic has 3. Aside from that there are a few other differences. Station Wagons came standard with a few items that were optional on the basic models including a rear view mirror, door trim, individual rear jumpseats, swinging rear door, floor mats, roofside trim and a few other minor items. Keep in mind that Land Rover Stoped importing station wagons and 109s in 1967. After that all trucks for North America were deluxe hardtops despite the fact that the tropical roof was still an option.
As for santana that is the brand name of Land Rovers built under licence by the company Metalurgica de Santa Ana in Spain. The early models were identical to their british made counterparts. However as time progressed they became increasingly different with more and more locally made components including 6 cylinder diesel engines, parabolic springs, fiberglass roof panels, split rear doors and other differences.
-Hope that helps
