Both the 94 & 95 Defender's take the same unit. I just had mine
Installed 2 days ago.
The dealer will charge you (that's any LR Dealer) $2020 for the
A/C kit itself. (Jim can get it about $150 less) But I warn against putting it in yourself. It took
Almost 2 days.
So now you've got to know where to go to get it installed. Well, going to the dealer, will cost you between $800 and $1500, That's LR Jacksonville , FL and LR Miami, respectively. I found a guy by the name of Jim Cartier who has a lot of experience
With A/C units, he's even put them in Series Trucks. He did mine.
I had to go to Tampa but it was well worth it, and he charged me more
Than half what the dealer would charge. He owns a place called
Seminole Rovers, it's an independent LR Dealer. And he works all Weekend.
Either way, if you go to a LR Dealer it will cost you NO LESS than
$3000 dollars. If you go to Jim, it will cost about $2400.
There's no way around it for a new LR unit. It's now made by a company
In England, and it takes the new R134 A/C juice.
Now you can go to an A/C place and they could fit you something in
There from a Jeep or Chevy. But I got prices on that and it was about
$2500. Not worth it, plus the guy knew nothing of the Defender.
And the other unit wouldn't have been form fitting as mine is and it Will not have the nice LandRover logo on it.
Up to you,
If you want specifics on it, or any other info, just email or call me Directly.
