I feel much better now knowing that you had the same problem... I got it all, it all makes sense now, except for one thing: where does the "off" position come in (top left of figure 8). From your explanation, I got the idea I could use H for normal driving, L for off-road or heavy duty, and LOCK to get out of a jam... but you also say I can lock the centre dif. in both H and L mode. If in H mode, this makes sense, by just shifting left into the LOCK position, but when in L mode, if I shift left i'll end up in OFF position, which, in my car, does exactly the same as N. (meaning nothing happens at all) any advice on this??? am I in trouble? Thanks a bunch! J.
