Hate to say it..... but keep it Genuine, LR knows far more about the car than Jacobs.
We've never used one, nor sold one, thus have zero knowledge of it. One thing it could be doing is sending a "spike" into ECU or nearby wiring, which will result in a Code being tripped. Sounds to me the company didn't do enough testing on LR before putting part on market.
