The Cap is new? I also ideled the engine to operating temp 20 min or so and measured the antifreze at the rad filler with a termometer and it read 165 degree F with no bubbles and nice swirling action. The guage never moved off center , but went on block and it moved up to just below red?? Just don't get it. It does'nt seem to lose water. I've ordered new temp sender and will install in next day or two.
Another symptom is that when I turn on the lights ON the temp comes down to 3/4 but not to 1/2.The voltage at the temp sending unit when running is 10V.
