Thanks for the feedback, it makes a pleasant change.
As I cannot encourage you to get your hands dirty on this car, this is just for information.
For an airbag to leak air "electrically", two valves have to stick open.
The one for the bag, and the master exhaust valve.

I too would doubt the faulty compressor analysis.
It looks as if you will have to do the thinking part of any maintenance yourself. Are you sure you haven't still got a few tools hidden somewhere ? :-)

It might be a beast, and it might be in a different league to your previous motors, but it was designed and assembled by mere men, and as you are finding out, even the trained maintenance people aren't always that hot.

A point made in jest, do whatever you are comfortable with.
