Thanks David / Mr G,

I took the car down to the dealer today to get them to have a look. I live about 17 miles from the dealer and the car ran on the bump stops all they way until about a mile from the dealer when the suspension suddenly started working okay again.

They told me they think that it is the compressor that is at fault. I'm not so sure. When the fault in the air suspension occurs the suspension is effectively dead. Then suddenly it springs back into life and works fine, (i.e. it moves between different heights in seconds). I'm pretty sure I have a leaking airbag as the suspension does tend to be down on the stops in the morning, and I am going to try out your suggestion to find out which airbag is leaking. I am convinced is is some sort of electrical problem, and I am going to investigate this over the next few days.

I used to do a lot of maintenance on my own cars but this beast is in a different league.

I will post how I get on, and no I am not going to change a leaking airbag myself!

Steven
