In Belgium, we also have a diesel emission test. The first time (300TDI) also failed. The cure was quickly found. Renew the airfilter before presenting your Land Rover to the test center and make sure the engine is hot. A used air filter makes it more difficult to get air in, causing a too rich burning mixture. This will be the case if you have been driving in dry dusty conditions.

If that doesn't help, renew also the fuel filter. If that doesn't help neither, expert help will be needed.
