The explanation is correct but it's even easier. I only loosened a few fixings underneeth and I was able to get my hand/arm in quite easely to remove the antenna and replace it with a new unit. I even did not bring the new antenna wire up to the radio but connected it to the existing wire (keep the distance as short as possible and do proper fixings)
