RANGEROVER CLASSIC POWER WINDOWS

Posted by Ali on November 29, 2001 at 12:53:33:

F.Y.I. - A MUST FOR ALL CLASSIC OWNERS.

I experienced a tragedy when I was in school in Savannah Georgia. I was at home when a flash flood hit the small city of Savannah. My 93 Rover LWB was parked in my garage. I was ill and wanted to go to the Doctors office. So what did I do? I tried to drive my rover in the flood. it sounds crazy but my house was at the bottom of a slight incline. So there was water buildup. Anyway, my rover ended up being flooded. It would not start back up so I decided to walk ( in 3.5 feet of water ) back to my house. Before I left I locked all the doors and closed all the windows. I made it to the house, called an adjuster and waited. After an hour of so, my neighbor rang my bell to tell me that ALL MY WINDOWS ARE DOWN. I said that was impossible. Low and behold I ran outside and realized that ALL MY WINDOWS WERE DOWN. I was in disbelief. I called the dealer and I was informed that " it is a normal function for the classic rovers, the windows will automatically come down if the system gets flooded with water." " God forbid if you ever overturn your truck into a river you will be able to get out due to the rovers system." I said " Great ."

In conclusion
The guys at rangerover have done it again. This feature, out of many, is indicative of the range rover's safety and also why the range rover will always be the best 4 x 4 x far!
