| RANGEROVER CLASSIC POWER WINDOWS Posted by Ali on November 29, 2001 at 12:53:33: F.Y.I. - A MUST FOR ALL CLASSIC OWNERS. I experienced a tragedy when I was in school in Savannah Georgia. I was at home when a flash flood hit the small city of Savannah. My 93 Rover LWB was parked in my garage. I was ill and wanted to go to the Doctors office. So what did I do? I tried to drive my rover in the flood. it sounds crazy but my house was at the bottom of a slight incline. So there was water buildup. Anyway, my rover ended up being flooded. It would not start back up so I decided to walk ( in 3.5 feet of water ) back to my house. Before I left I locked all the doors and closed all the windows. I made it to the house, called an adjuster and waited. After an hour of so, my neighbor rang my bell to tell me that ALL MY WINDOWS ARE DOWN. I said that was impossible. Low and behold I ran outside and realized that ALL MY WINDOWS WERE DOWN. I was in disbelief. I called the dealer and I was informed that " it is a normal function for the classic rovers, the windows will automatically come down if the system gets flooded with water." " God forbid if you ever overturn your truck into a river you will be able to get out due to the rovers system." I said " Great ." In conclusion |
