The 'service interval counter/unit' resides under the pass
seat of the mid 90's models. You do not state what yr/model you have...anyway, this little reddish-brown plastic box
has a Land Rover label on it. This unit prompts (@52,500 mi) lite to illuminate. It is an emissions reminder, a way for the dealer body to get you in. Or to get you, as the case may be. You or a friend can 'reset' this counter EASILY, extinguishing the lamp. HOW:In the absolute middle/centerpoint of the label is a hole in the plastic housing. Since the lamp is on and has no 'reset history'
the label has not yet been perforated, with a THIN stiff probe-narrower than ink cartridge of a cheap BIC pen-you are about to change that ! Stick the probe all the way into the box, with the ignition key 'on' but engine off. Hold it for a couple sec. Lamp should extinguish. Good luck on that one.

Your CC unit is most likely not working due to black rubber hoses (vacuum lines) having perished. Very common on RR/LR.
They are found in the engine bay, diameter of a pen/pencil roughly. How to point-out them/+routing to you via BBS is tough...

Your speedo sounds like a speed-transducer unit prob, also tied into the CC, so may be indicative that IT is indeed, the culprit in the CC and speedo problem.

IF dealer did a thorough fluid change, that does sound about right, a little dear, but possible, IF complete.
Start changing your oil every 6k-7500 miles. 3k is too frequent, just throwing money away. Cheers- doug
