Try to clean any dirt from around the plugs as best as possible, maybe use a hose, then dry off. I removed my plugs to inspect and dropped a big gob of mud down the plug hole. I had to attach a small diameter rubber tube the end of my vacuum cleaner and clean out the cylinder. When I replaced the plugs they seemed to go in straight w/out trouble. If I can remember to buy some, next time I'll use copper anti-seize paste.
