Hi,
From other posts on various BBS, you should use anti sieze on the threads when you install the new plugs.
As for cross threading, taking it easy on install, stop if the plug won't go on easily, probably avoids the problem.
As for debris, cleaning as much as possible and blowing out any debris before removal should help.
You should know that I have not changed plugs in my Rovers yet but plan to do so when the time comes.
Others on this board have greater experience and will hopefully respond.
