| 98 discovery "shudder" & steering wheel lock out Posted by lrnewbie on October 16, 2001 at 19:21:43: Recently bought a 98 DI used from a dealer...great vehicle in great shape and only 42,000 miles. However, I have two concerns: 1. 3 times now I have had the sensation of the vehicle shuddering when driving in traffic conditions. i.e., on rush hour freeways and streets. Driving along no problem then all of a sudden a feeling of shaking or shuddering of the vehicle. No drop in RPM just shaking. Is this something a trans service might fix or?? 2. more than a few timesm the steering wheel lock has locked me out of the ignition. I put the key in try to turn it and it is locked. tried turning the steering wheel slightly and no help. Have to jimmy the key around and cross fingers to get it to work. After 5 mintues of trying it suddenly turns. Any thoughts? Love this vehicle, want to keep it. Wife is suspicious of these little gremlins. Help is appreciated.
