Thats really up to you, on the byt it thing.

I own a 88 range rover Classic that I wouldn't sell for a million dollars, I absoutly love rovers, and I know a hell of alot of people that would probally agree with me

1. Rust and corrosion, I know there's a lawsuit on but my truck is 10 years old and there is a rust spot on the hood, and a little rust on the tailgate, I'm not complaining, defintally not sueing. The problem lies where aluminum body panels contact Steel, somethig about a cemical reaction (not just rust) that the two metals produce. LR puts bushings at thease places according to my dealer. Buy it

2. Oil leaks, It is said that LR doesn't build a engine that doesn't leak oil, I have replaced some gaskets (oil pan) and need to replace the crank gasket on the front, but have never noiticed a "pool" Where I park. Wouldn't worry about that ether, buy it

3. Steering box leak, When I bought my rover three years agao I took it into the shop and they said I needed a new steering box, it was leaking, They told me how much, I said "screw You" so they put some liquid that I can't recall into it that was supposed to stop or slow leaks and I haven't touched it scince, it's not the cleanst spot on the engine, but I only have to top off the fluid every eight months or so, Buy it

Disclaimer: Land rovers are special trucks for special pepole, it can be the neatest thing in the world, and you can develop a super relationship with your landie. They will go anywhere with a well educated and level headed driver, they are the best 4x4xfar. But if theasr trival rumors about rovers are keeping you up at night, then you might be better off with another truck, but land rovers are the best!
