If you have a BATT light on (glowing) you no doubt have a diode pack gone bye-bye in the alt.... that can cuase a missfire since the batt is NOT up to full charge, even more so if your out at night. Chk it. Also, chk plug wires with eng running in the dark, see if you have a lightshow going on. LRNA has an up-dated set of wires (94 Disco) for $52.00
