Assumed: 2. Electronic ignition timing 3. Probably alternator needs checking (battery light) could be RED HERRING if you can start the engine - treat alternator separately. Sputter above 2000 rpms - definitley check connections to coil (usual rubbish made by Lucas)and check ignition leads - best done in the dark to check for tracking. Have you checked belt tension on alternator / condition of wires / older RR suffer from overload when lights/heater/indicators/heated rear screen/wipers etc are all ON.
