| Steering Play - 1998 Disco LE, Series I? Posted by Kelly on July 05, 2001 at 12:52:16: Hello: I am new to the Land Rover club (I just bought my first Land Rover) and am so far very happy. I have noticed one thing that is rather unusual, a lot of steering play. Almost 2 full inches I would say. This makes the vehicle at little unsettling to drive at highway speeds, especially if you catch the draft of an on-coming semi-truck. Anyway, I bought the Disco at the local Land Rover dealer, and have made an appt. to have it looked at. But since I am new to the Land Rover scene, I thought I would ask the following question: How tight should the steering be? Is there an adjustment for steering play? Might something be worn out? Thanks for any heads up ... I want to have as much data as possible before taking it to the dealer next week. Thanks! Kelly
