| Lazy lifter? Posted by Nick H. on July 03, 2001 at 14:50:05: I am a proud owner of a 1988 RR. I do all of the moderately easy repairs myself. But this one might be over my head. Here's the problem: I hear a "clicking" noise from the engine when cold and it diminishes slightly when the engine reaches normal operating temp. I have been told the noise is a faulty lifter. Is there any way to repair the lifter without tearing the engine apart? Is this worth repairng? And if left alone, will it cause any further damage? Any help is greatly appreciated. Nick H.
