anti=freeze

Posted by Clem on May 28, 2001 at 04:18:35:

The correct spec anti-freeze for my Disco V8 is a glycol-ethylene based
one.

According to the manual anti-freeze should be 50%. It specifically says that
anti-freeze should never be allowed to drop below 25% by volume or engine
damage may occur.

Now recently when *the LR agent* carried out a service, the radiator was
drained and refilled. I note that they put in 1litre anti-freeze only.
Cooling system volume is 11.3 litres. So, anti-freeze is at 8.8%.

I'm not sure whether I should now drain the system and refill with the right
ratio mixture. As usual, I'm inclined to follow the manual because I just
don't know any better for myself.

Anyone know whether any damage may result if left as is?

Regards,
Clem
