94 D90 Stalling Posted by Michael on July 31, 1998 at 07:50:47: My D90 will intermitantly shudder then either run raggedly with no power or quit suddenly as though I've turned the engine off. This wil clear up if I turn the truck off for at least 30 seconds. If I try to restart before 30 seconds, it won't start. The local dealership, LR of Hinsdale, has tried three times to repair the intermittant stall. They changed: engine controll module, the ECM wiring harness, the injector harness, the cat. converters and down and wye pipes. They also bagged the computer in a plastic bag and drilled a drain hole in the plastic computer case. This seemed only to reduce the number of stalls. I then travelled overland to CA with minimal problems until the leg from San Francisco to LA on highway 5. Then the stalling returned worse than ever. I took the vehicle to the dealership in Walnut Creek, Cole Imports. They changed: fuel pump, fuel filter, coil. Still didn't fix the problem. Returned home, returned vehicle to LR Hinsdale who kept it for 10 days and changed the O2 sensor. They said they couldn't figure out what was wrong and returned the vehicle. And so it still randomly stalls. This week I installed a Jacobs Ignition kit. We'll see if that helps. Any one else have this problem? Were you also dissapointed by Land Rover service?
