Hi there I have a '97, but it hasn't done this yet. I find sometimes it just won't engage difflock low, so I just roll the car slightly, while putting pressure on the difflock lever - it always pops into what I want.

The 200 series Discos have extra soundproofing around the difflock lever, and sometimes they don't engage the difflock, despite the warning light being on.

A sure way to find out if the difflock is engaged is to drive on a hard surface. Drive in a circle in reverse. It'll "suck" the car down on the suspension, and just feel very strange. Don't do this too much though! You'll destroy the transfer case.

To remove wind up, come out of difflock and then reverse in a straight line until the light extinguishes.
