G'day

It's ths same here in Australia. Once you get out in the real back blocks, the Land Cruiser is ubiquitous. My experience is that Land Rovers are better vehicles in many ways but you have to survive the "teething" stage and this needs the support of a good dealer. One day Land Rovers will leave the factory fully debugged but at the present time they all seem to have a few assembly faults. These are usually not serious but you will need a good dealer to survive this phase. From then on, they are as resiable as a Toyota, more comfortable than a Troopcarrier, more economical and just as good off road of not better. I also keep hearing horror stories about Toyotas but I think they manage to cover their tracks better than Land rover.

I would also say that you have to know how to drive to drive a Land Rover. Treat it with respect and it will do you well. Hate it and thrash it and it will return the compliment.

Michael
