If an ALT is "already fitted" (if working too), it'll be NEG GROUND, as this is how they work. To change POS to NEG... Disconn Batt., Swap AMETER wires at guage, Swap PLUG-IN DAsh terms (behind dash), re-conn Batt and you're done.
