lifters on these engines don't waer out in 60K, and the pushrods only need changing in extreme mileage.
FYI: If lifters are worn out, so is the camshaft! Did anyone bother to inspect the face on the lifter? If they were no good, then you would have had to replace the cam, or noise won't go away.
