Hi Jim. I can think of one thing. When the motor is cold, so is the oil, making it thicker. If your oil pressure is marginal, the reduced viscosity of the oil when hot can make the pressure even lower. Have you connected an accurate test gauge to know your true oil pressure? Most Rover motors perform a little better with a 15-40 type grade, where most other motors are now in the 10-30 range. Is that what you are running? Hope this helps.
