Repeated Injection Pump Failure

Posted by Giles on December 29, 2000 at 19:14:59:

I have a Perkins 6-247 diesel engine (ex Dodge 50 van)fitted in a Range Rover, i've suffered 3 injection pump failures recently and can only assume its the low sulphur diesel. If i can obtain another pump (a Japanese Kiki unit - they aren't rebuildable (nobody has specifications or a parts book) so a 2nd hand unit is my only option) does anybody know of a lubricant i can add to the fuel without creating clouds of smoke. I thought of synthetic 2 stroke oil but obviously want to avoid dying my fuel red or blue....
If anybody knows of somebody with a pump it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Giles
