I have not had a problem with the system although I have only had the car two months. The weather has not been bad enough to test the ABS. THe Yellow ABS light is on all the time. I brought it to my regular mechanic and he could not test the system with his computer. The dealer has given me a range of problems and told me "a lot of codes pop up" when the system was tested with their computer diagnostics equipment. He said they would not know what had to be replaced until they started replacing parts which could range from $2,500 to $5,000. I am sure I can do this cheaper with my regular mechanic if I locate the parts. I asked the dealer for a written estimate of the work that needs to be preformed. Any suggestions on getting the parts other than the dealer. I don't have a high trust level with the dealership. Do you know what the brake booster does? That seems to be the most expense part. |
