I need to buy a set of tires for an ex-MoD 110 (mid-late 80's vintage). The vehicle is 90+% military stock.

I would like to fit the tires to the current wheels, and
a) retain a somewhat original military appearance
b) have reasonable on highway handling and performance, not too deafening sound
c) have reasonable off highway performance (I will not do any "hardcore" offroading with this vehicle - mostly just logging roads and such)

My initial inclination is to fit Mud type radial tires with a slightly wider tread than the original tires. These tires will spend 80 % of their time on highway, and be not be winter driven.

Any suggestions?
