Hauntingly familar story, reminds me of a newspaper article yesterday about a local man who *had* a 1 year old Mooney Airplane. The factory rep took it for a service in Texas, and upon return forgot to lower the landing gear. Result, one wrecked airplane. The owner got a call, was given a phone number to call...and the President of Mooney Aircraft answered. They GAVE him a new Platinum edition Mooney Airplane, quite an upgrade. They wanted to do everything to make up the loss to him. Read into it what you may, regarding your situation...
